Recently, the Hyperbaric oxygen (HBO2) therapy has received an approval of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society for 12 medical conditions including:
1. Air or Gas Embolism
2. carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning
3. smoke inhalation
4. gas gangrene caused by certain bacteria
5. scuba Decompression Sickness (the "Bends")
6. radiation tissue damage(RADIONECROSIS). It includes soft tissue radionecrosis, osteoradionecrosis, radiation mucositis, dermatitis, enteritis, laryngeal radionecrosis, cystitis
7. Thermal Burns
8. non-healing skin grafts
9. crush injuries
10. wounds that fail to heal through conventional treatment
11. Exceptional Blood Loss (Anemia)
12. intracranial abscess.
